Sarah Palin Welcomes Muslims To Republican Party

Amid a growing distrust among her conservative Christian supporters of anything Islamic, Sarah Palin goes on record stating emphatically that Republicans and the McCain-Palin ticket welcome all Muslims, adding "it is not acceptable in my book" to discriminate on the basis of religion. Her message of tolerance comes amid a growing tide of Islamophobia at McCain-Palin presidential rallies in Virginia, Pennsylvania and Ohio. How Christian fundamentalists interpret her remarks in the last days of the campaign is anyone's guess.

Off base?
Why do you call Muslims "non-believers"? Muslims, Jews, and Christians are ALL believers in the same God, the God of Abraham. The Koran, the Torah, and the Bible validate that we all descended from the same God. I do find the McCain love for Muslims a little hollow when their operatives have tried very hard to cast Obama as a "secret Muslim". I find it downright hypocritical to be honest. Hummmm WWJD? Why did a McCain supporter show up today with the picture of Obama in Indonesian dress and then berate him as "we don't need a Muslim for President." Cognitive dissonance coming from your Party of bigots, but then what else is new?
Way Off Base!
This 'Christian' guys comments, I find, to be out of sinc with mainstream Chrisitan Evangelical beliefs. We do not ostracise people just because they don't believe (yet) that Jesus was/is the Son of God and is the one true way to God. We are called to teach the New Testiment to non-believers, period. Otherwise, how are we ever going to reach the non-believer with our message? Sarah Palin is right on with her comment, doesn't diminish her stance as a Christian One i-ota.
